Sherryl “Sherry” Rae Werhan, 72, of West Union, IA passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30 am at the S.K. Rogers & Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union, IA.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the S.K. Rogers & Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union, IA.
Sherryl “Sherry” Rae Werhan was born on February 20, 1944 to Ralph and Lena (Earle) Keig in Rural Fayette.
Sherry attended and graduated from Fayette High School in 1962.
On April 20, 1963 she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Werhan at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union, IA.
She was a candy striper at the hospital during high school. She also did daycare in her home and later helped her husband, Jim, in the vault business as a receptionist.
Sherry enjoyed embroidery, going on car rides, reading mystery and western novels, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Kelly Ray (Taina) Werhan of Riverview, FL; daughter, Karla (Mike) Snyder of West Union, IA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Sherry is preceded by her parents, her brother, Ralph Keig Jr. and his wife Katherine, one grandson, one nephew, brother-in-laws, John, Charles and David Werhan, Harold Wilbur; and sister-in-law, Ruth Werhan.
S.K. Rogers & Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union, IA was in charge of the arrangements.
