Shayne Robert Baker, 36, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Thursday, July 3, 2014, in Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, Nev. Friends may visit with the family from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. before the service.
Locally, the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont, followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m.
Born May 6, 1978, in Denver, Colo., Shayne grew up in Iowa before moving to Las Vegas more than 15 years ago.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he worked as a sales representative in credit card merchant services.
He was the coach of his son’s baseball team, the Vipers.
Survivors include Shayne’s significant other, Michelle Poe; his son, Cody Baker; his parents, Steven and Terri Baker of Clermont; a sister, Carie (Cory) Fisher; and two brothers, Shawn (Shelsea) Baker and J.R. Baker.
To honor Shayne’s dream of one day being a part of his family’s Skip-A-Way Campgrounds in Clermont, memorials in Shayne R. Baker’s name may be directed to Skip-A-Way Campgrounds, P.O. Box 324, Clermont, IA 52135. The memorials will be used to purchase trees for the campgrounds. 28u28
